David recently appeared in San Francisco for a concert and workshop appearance. Watch here to find out where David will be appearing soon.

David produced all of Nancy LaMott’s CDs and wrote many of his most cherished songs for her. He has made it his mission to keep the Nancy LaMott legacy alive by keeping her catalogue in print and producing CDs and DVDs of her unreleased material on his record label, Midder Music Records.

Most orders can be turned around in 1 day. Feel free to write if you have any questions about keys, payment or songs not on the list.

Because David's songbook was created on computer, we can custom-transpose the piano/vocal music for any of his songs to any key you wish. Ordinarily, this service would cost at least $15 a page, if you could even find someone with the skill and time to do it. We offer the entire song for $25 plus $2 shipping and handling (international orders may be additional).
To order a song in your key, please email us (by clicking here). Let us know which song(s) you would like, and be sure to specify the key(s). Enclose your name, address, phone number, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex) and expiration date and we'll send it right out to you. It can also be sent as a PDF to save the shipping cost.
You can also call us at (203) 899-0473. Thanks, and we hope you enjoy singing David's songs in the perfect key for YOU.

David's music is available for licensing for CDs, DVDs, Film, Television, Live Performances, and Church and Corporate functions.
CD-NEW RECORDING
To do a new recording of David's songs on a CD, you must obtain a mechanical license. This is a simple process.
Simply email (by clicking here) the title of the song you wish to use, the name of your record company (if there is one), a contact person, address, phone number and email, and the date of the release of the CD.
Please also include a credit card number and expiration date which we can charge for the cost of the license.
If you do not wish to send your credit card through email, you may call (203) 899-0473, which is a private, secure phone line, and leave your credit card information on the machine, which will answer “You have reached David Friedman and MIDDER Music Publishing.”
If you do not wish to pay by credit card, you may send a check made out to MIDDER Music Publishing, Inc. to:

The cost of a mechanical license is 9.1 cents per song per CD sold, with payment in advance for the first 1000 CD's sold. For one song on a CD, that would be $91, for two songs $182 and so forth. Upon processing of your credit card payment or clearing of your check, you will receive two copies of a mechanical license signed by David. Please sign and return one and keep it for your records.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us or call us at (203) 899-0473.
USE AN EXISTING TRACK OF DAVID'S OR NANCY LAMOTT'S ON A CD, LICENSE SONGS FOR USE ON DVDS, ON TELEVISION, OR IN FILMS
For these types of uses, you need to have a Synchronization license. Each license is negotiated separately. Generally, if you have a project that has many songs on it, we will negotiate a Most Favored Nations deal. This means that we will take whatever amount you're offering as long as no other song on the project is receiving more.
You can either make an offer or contact us for a quote. Either way, we will work with you and do our best , within reason, to make it happen within the budget of your project.
LIVE PERFORMANCES
Generally cabaret and concert performances are covered under the venue's ASCAP contracts and do not require licensing. David is a member of ASCAP, as is his publisher, MIDDER Music Records, Inc., so all cue sheets should be sent to ASCAP.
CHARITABLE LICENSES
David is often interested in having his work used for charitable purposes, so do not hesitate to contact us if you're doing a charitable project and want use a David Friedman song. Generally David will donate the song as long as no other songs are receiving compensation and the project is not being sold for commercial profit. Otherwise, David usually will license the song on a Most Favored Nations basis with all the other songs on the project.
CHURCHES
David is generally happy to have his music performed in church and spiritual services free of charge, as long as it is not being sold for profit. (Selling of a tape of the service with the songs on it is usually fine.)

David's music has been recorded by too many artists to mention, so here is a very partial list. The best way to find recordings of David's music is to look up David, the singer or the song at your favorite online music store.

Please check iTunes or your favorite online music store for other recordings of David's songs, or to see if your favorite artist has recorded them.

For 15 years he annually wrote a new song for the Duke Children's Hospital Classic Charitable Show, choosing the song's subject based on what the hospital was trying to accomplish in that year. For charities close to David's heart, David will also allow himself to be auctioned off to write a custom song especially for the highest bidder. Since these items, unlike theater tickets or ski trips, cannot have a price put on them, they often go for the highest price of the evening. A commissioned song by David has brought in as much as $18,000. All revenue is kept by the charity. David writes the song, to the winner's specifications, free of charge.
CORPORATE COMMISSIONS
David has written special material for numerous corporate events throughout the years and he enjoys doing it. Contact David by email here with your corporate music needs.

David is a platinum-selling songwriter and composer of such songs as 'We Can Be Kind," "Help is on the Way" and "Listen to My Heart." He's served as conductor and arranger for several Disney movies such as "Alladin" and his songs have been sung by such artists as Diana Ross, Barry Manilow, Kathie Lee Gifford and, of course, Nancy LaMott. This is one special show you won't want to miss. A fundraiser for UnitySF church.
David will also be presenting FINDING YOUR INNER VOICE, a breakthrough singing and acting workshop for singers and non-singers.
In this workshop, David applies his Thought Exchange principles to singing. People get up and sing, and when a problem or difficulty appears, rather than attacking the problem, we assume that it's a reflection of our thought. With a simple change of thought, vocal and acting problems disappear. You do not have to be a professional singer to participate in this workshop, nor do you even have to get up and sing to receive its benefits.
Saturday, February 26, 1:00 to 3:00pm
